We are doing a special presentation featuring VINTAGE GLAM from our favorite florist Donna Smith, with Out of the Garden! We adore this popular wedding trend and are excited to unveil our 'vintage glam' booth to inspire your own wedding design ideas!

Bridal shows can be stressful, intimidating, and overwhelming. Who needs added stress when you are planning one of the most important days of your life!

Our mission at Bride Associates is to Make Planning Simple. With a little help from us and some preparation, Bridal Shows can be exciting and enjoyable.

Here are just a few tips to help you navigate through the bridal show and have a great shopping experience!

1. Set Up a Wedding Email Account- In the early stages of wedding planning, consider setting up a wedding email account through a free online email service, such as Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail. Not only will it be convenient to receive all wedding-related communication through one account, but it will be helpful in keeping your regular email free of unsolicited email.

2. Print Address Labels At Home- Most vendors at bridal shows want to collect your information. Save yourself time and writer's cramp by printing up address labels at home prior to arriving. Some wedding expos offer this service when you arrive, but coming prepared will save you money,. Each label should have the names of both the bride and groom; the preferred mailing address information should be sent to, the wedding email account, phone number, and your wedding date.

3. DO wear comfortable shoes- Bridal shows are normally all day and run one day or over a weekend. You’d want to be comfortable so you can focus more on those you are meeting rather than your feet that are screaming at you. This will help you move quickly and easily from booth to booth!

4. DO make a list of what you are looking for- Are you in need of a florist? Do you need a cake? How about linens? Going into the bridal show with a game plan eliminates wasted time with vendors that you are not in need of. You’re also able to spend more quality time with those vendors that you do need.

5. DO take notes and business cards – By doing this, you can match business cards with notes that you took from their booth. Organization is key and it’ll help you determine which vendor are right for you.

6. DON’T forget to bring people with you- Bring your mom, your fiance if he’s willing, your BFF or all three! Having people with you gives you a support system and it also helps you with decisions that you might not be able to make on your own.

7. DO set up appointments and consultations – If you click with a vendor immediately upon meeting, that’s a good thing! Set up a meeting with them so you can have more one on one time with them to see if they can meet your needs regarding your wedding. Bring your appointment book so you can stay organized and on top of the appointments.

Bride Associates has exciting news! We are looking for our next Faux Wedding Bride & Groom! If you are newly married or a marriage pro by now, we want you! Here is the criteria to be our next Bride & Groom:

1. You have to already be married.

2. You will need to be availalbe on Thursday February 24, 2011 from 3PM to 10PM.

3. You must be able to go to a dress fitting to wear a bridal gown.

4. You must want to party like a rock star at your Faux Wedding!

Clayton and I are thrilled about getting married, but the wedding planning has been another story. For the past three months we have been on a roller coaster of emotions. We're Getting Married!

As wedding planners we have a fun job that can at times be extremely difficult and also very interesting. On top of our daily craziness, there are three of us at the Bride Associates office that are getting married! My wedding planning journey so far has been a roller coaster ride. In an attempt to relieve some of my amazing staff and friends from having to deal with probably the worst bride ever (yes! I admit it) and in an effort to share the wedding details with my brides, friends and family I have started a blog.

To Veil or NOT to Veil…..

Wedding day accessories are a unique and fun way to express your own individual style and personality. The wedding veil has come a long way over the years and we are starting to see more and more Brides choose veils that are more their personality!

One Bride-friend made the statement: “I don’t like my veil…I wish I didn’t have to wear one but my friends and my mother all think I need to.” After some thought, she chose a vintage flower headpiece that fit her wedding and her personality and she was happy!

Choose a veil or go with some form of hair accessory, it’s totally up to you! Your choice should match your style, and the theme of your wedding. April Team Meeting

The Bride Associates Team is always excited about gaining more knowledge to better serve our brides. At our monthly staff meetings we invite a new vendor each month to educate us on their services and products. This month we were hosted by Out of the Garden and they treated us to an amazing evening at their shop! The entire staff at Out of the Garden welcomed us along with Lisa and Chef Andrew from Tastefully Yours, Ruben Reynoso, owner of El Wine Chateau, and Laura Kelsey with Celebration Event Rentals.

We started the evening with a tour of wines from Ruben with El Wine Chateau. He gave us a sampling of a variety of different wines and educated us on their region and how they paired with different foods.

Chef Andrew with Tastefully Yours created us an amazing display of melt in your mouth food. The ingredients he uses are all fresh and the quality is top notch. I think our favorite were the mango and brie quesadillas! Yummy!

Valarie and Donna plus the entire Out of the Garden crew gave us a full tour of their shop including their huge cooler filled with fresh flowers daily. You cant help but feel overwhelmed by the beauty and the aroma. They have a inventory of unique antiques and other creative props that allow brides create a unique setting for the wedding. They are truly a special find and the service they offer each bride is only one of the many reasons that you should bring a bride to them! They make each bride feel special and just like their brides they treated us to a fantatic evening and gave us fun spring goody bags to take home with us!

A tremendous THANK YOU to Out of the Garden, Tastefully Yours, El Chateau, and Celebration Event Rental for contributing to our team meeting and making it fun and memorable. We appreciate all you do for our brides and our team. Here are just a few photos from the meeting. More to come!

There is an emotional moment that a father shares with his daughter during the father/ daughter dance at the wedding reception. It is inherently sweet, the love of a father as he gives "Daddy's Little Princess" to her new husband. Heart-warming and heart-breaking at the same time. We were thrilled to work with Becky and John in planning their wedding! They truely are one of the cutest and happiest couples we've had the pleasure of working with!

The ceremony was held at the Marty Leonard Chapel in Fort Worth, while the reception took place later that evening at the Hyatt North Dallas. The couple wanted to take advantage of the beautiful weather- so they went to the Fort Worth Japanese Tea Gardens, as well as the Botantical Gardens for pictures between ceremony and reception.

I couldn't help but fall for the love story between Edward and Bella in the recent series Twilight. This is a special blog today. It is for my amazing staff of women at Bride Associates. This weekend we had our Quarterly Staff Meeting at the Nylo Hotel in Las Colinas. Friday night we enjoyed happy hour in the cozy library area of the Nylo, dinner at The Loft, and a late night on the patio. We spent the night in the lofty and unqiue Nylo Hotel and woke up bright and early to start our staff meetings. As we sat around the table on Saturday morning I looked around and was truly Grateful and Humbled by all of you. How blessed I am to have such an amazing group of women that surround me each day. I am Honored to have you on my team and know that with out you Bride Associates would not be the respected wedding coordination firm it is today. You are all beautiful, smart, and full of talent. Thank you to all those who attended our Faux Wedding on February 18. It was a fun filled night with great food, great entertainment, and most importantly, great people! To those of you who are not familiar with our faux weddings, it is a bridal showcase, not only highlighting some of DFW’s top wedding vendors, but also allowing the bride-to-be the full experience of an actual wedding ceremony and reception from a different perspective. Our faux weddings not only allow the brides to see the vendors in action, but they also walk away with some great ideas & tips.

Our backdrop for the evening took place on the 42nd floor of The Cityplace Conference & Event Center located in Dallas, Texas where "personalized service, breath-taking views and exceptional cuisine are the hallmarks of Cityplace Weddings".

Simply Love

Every weekend we get to be a part of the joy and love between two people as they become husband and wife. Last weekend we witnessed that same love and joy as well as sadness and loss.

To express in words how my heart grieves for this beautiful family seems impossible. With an unexpected turn of events, Cynthia and Mike's May wedding was abrubtly moved to last Friday in the Mother of the Bride's hospital room so she could see her youngest daughter get married.

We also had the privelage to work with Cynthia and her family in a second wedding celebration on the following Saturday. Although, her mother Cindy was not able to join us, the warmth and strength of this couple's family and friends filled the ceremony and reception with abundant love.

I borrowed the title of this blog from Crystal DelaHoz, the photographer who caputured these heartfelt moments on Friday at the hospital. A few months ago she posted Cynthia and Mike's engagement photos and she recently posted "how fitting that the title of my blog post months ago for their engagement session was simply, love. Here we are again, with love, yet this time its not so light and fluffy its heavy and gut wrenching and bittersweet, but it is still simply love."

I am overwhelmed with sadness for a grieving family who has lost a wife, a mother, a sister, and a friend. I only knew Cindy for a short time but she was a woman who left a smile on my heart and an everlasting impression on the hearts of everyone who knew her.

My prayer is that when you watch this video, you too feel the love, warmth and strength that this family demonstrates and remind each of us the true meaning of love and the hope and joy that comes with marriage.

I enjoyed a delicious cupcake from Le Sara Cupcake Bar yesterday with one of my favorite brides Cynthia! We had some planning to catch up on and decided to meet here for a treat! This is such a cute idea! First you pick your cupcake flavor, yesterday the choices were chocolate, cinnamon swirl or red velvet! They typically have more flavor selections, but the word is spreading about these delightful cupcakes and they were almost all sold out! Then you pick your icing - the cream cheese is fantastic! And finally you get to choose a topping! Its a great place to meet and make your day a little better with a yummy cupcake! My delicious choice of chocolate cupcake with cream cheese icing and chocolate chip topping!

It is called a Baby Eskimo and is a frosted vanilla milkshake with Kahlua, red sprinkles and fresh mint! Annual Retreat!

Each year the Bride Associates team enjoys a weekend getaway for training! This year we were headed to Austin, Texas but the resort we were staying decided to go under construction this month! In a quick recovery, the Southlake Hilton graciously worked with us on short notice and we enjoyed a relaxing 'staycation' this year!

We started the weekend off with a much needed spa day at the Royale Maison and Spa in Colleyville. Between mimosas and delicious cheese, we were pampered with massages, facials, and pedicures! We didnt want this part of retreat to end!

Friday evening we were hosted by Brio's for dinner. We were treated VIP in their private dining room - this room is perfect for a rehearsal dinner or any other small event! Regina and the staff at Brio's welcomed us and did not even let us order - they had prepared a meal fit for a king and we enjoyed every last bite! I wish I could describe the amount of food that we consumed! We tasted four appetizers, lobster bisque soup, two salads, five entrees, and three desserts!

Saturday was our primary training day! We got down to business by looking back and learning from this year and setting goals for next year. We focused on providing better customer service and overall quality in each of the services we offer. We had two special presentations prepared for us to learn more about ethnic weddings. One of our senior consultants, Christina Tran, taught us about all the details that go into Asian weddings and we had a special guest, Kirtna Charavda with Simply Perfect Weddings that educated us on the rituals of Indian weddings. It was a great weekend of education, spending quality time as a team and learning how to better serve our brides and vendors!

You would think after our huge meal on Friday night we would not want to eat again, but we were up for the challenge! Rebecca Wright and Mike McClure invited us to dine with them at Trulucks. Rebecca and Mike were so gracious and the staff and service at Trulucks is top notch! We got so much special attention that a few of the other guests that were dining near us thought we were celebrities or someone famous - until we started taking pictures of our food - like this amazing display of cold stone crab and shrimp and our favorite the chocolate cake!!

Bride Associates had a wonderful time working with Ester and Joe who had a beautiful reception at the Dallas Museum of Art in downtown Dallas. A big thank you to Monique Boyd, who is absolutely fabulous to work with at the DMA. Ester and Joe flew in photographers Pen Carlson from Chicago and it was a pleasure working with them. Their style is very unique and we love the photos! Absolute Entertainment provided all of the great lighting, Lilium Florals created beautiful flowers for the event, and Booth Booth added pre reception fun with their photobooth!

Race for the Cure

Bride Associates is a proud member of the National Association of Catering Executives and a few weeks ago they threw a “Think Pink” party in order to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. With a little help from Bride Associates and other members of the wedding industry, they ended up raising hundreds of dollars in order to help raise awareness. Last weekend Bride Associates teamed up again with National Association of Catering Executives and participated in the 27th annual Susan G. Komen - Race for the Cure walk. Over 30,000 people gathered together to help raise money for education about breast cancer, research for a cure and to provide resources for those dealing with breast cancer. This was by far one of the most influential walks Bride Associates has ever participated in.

Pamper the Prego

This past Sunday the Bride Associates team had a special baby shower for one of our consultants, Sarabeth. The theme for the shower was 'Pamper the Prego'. We figured baby Grahm would get plenty of gifts so we decided to shower Sarabeth with gifts strictly for her! We enjoyed a fabulous tea party by Twist of Tea at Patty Cakes in downtown Grapevine. Tante with Twist of Tea and Patty with Patty Cakes are two amazingly talented women! A special thank you for them being such gracious hosts!

How I got my Special Talent: I have always loved growing things, even as a child. I loved flowers and pods and branches and odd bits of nature. As an adult, I completed a degree in Theatre and Acting and eventually took that appreciation for drama and the manipulations learned in stage craft and applied it to flowers. That is why the back of our business cards read "nature...rearranged".

Favorite wedding trend: I love the new trends in unique color combinations. It is so fun to work on a wedding with a color duo of yellow and grey, or purple and lime green. It adds new dimensions and so many options to the design process. Fun, fun, fun!

Three fun facts about Traci:

1. Our company is named after our paternal grandfather, Rufus Felix Cruse.
2. I am uber-eco-friendly. I Free-cycle. I recycle everything I can at the shop, and do organic gardening at home. We even rescued a tree frog that came in with the orchid shipment. He couldn't live here, so we gave him to a learning center so kids can gaze at "Scooter" and watch him eat crickets.
3. I don't have a favorite flower. I like them all and love one more than others, then the season changes and so does my preference. A few blooms that always make the list: Ranunculus, Garden roses, and Blushing Bride protea.

You may have not known we were gone, but we took a quick break during August and September! We are back from our vacations and ready to go for the busy Fall wedding season! Here are a few photos of our awesome Bride Associates team members with their families on vacation:

Chelsey and Clayton went to Hawaii to visit Family on the island of Oahu. We enjoyed snorkling, scuba diving and relaxing on the beach. We also visted the Pearl Harbor memorials, BYU Hawaii, and enjoyed fresh shrimp and pineapple from the side of the road! We also went to a Black Eyed Pea concert on North Shore! We are now asking why we live in Texas!

Christina’s summer vacation started in Houston, Texas where she spent July 4th at a Beach House in Galveston with close friends and family.

In August, Christina traveled to Omaha, Nebraska, not to pick corn (although, she really did do this), but for her step-sister’s wedding. The wedding was held at the Fountains Ballroom located 12 miles south of Council Bluffs. It was a beautiful day outside- perfect for an outdoor ceremony.

A perfect ending to summer for Christina was celebrated at her engagement party. The party was held at the Flight Wine Bar at Ferrari’s Italian Villa in Grapevine.

Elizabeth and John got married on March 28th at the The Tribute! We really enjoyed working with them and wish them the best in their new life together!

The Tribute is really one of DFW's best kept secrets! We love working at Erin, Ashley and the staff at the Tribute. They are just fantastic to be around and always go above and beyond! The Tribute in the Colony is on a beautiful golf course, the views are stunning and it offers so many unique features - one of my favorites is the delightful bed and breakfast suites! Its the perfect place for a weekend wedding with family and friends!

We were so lucky to start of the wedding season working with Erin Kathleen and her assistant John. After every wedding with Erin Kathleen I can't wait to see the photos because I know they will be beautiful and really capture the energy, emotion and love that happend during the wedding and reception. Christmas in July seems to be all around me. Every where I turn I see something for "Christmas in July". I asked myself this morning, what is this all about really? So I turned to the most "reliable" source Wikipedia and checked it out.

Wikipedia explains that "in the northern hemisphere during the summer months the weather becomes increasingly warm and many people crave the atmosphere of cooler temperatures, gift giving and holiday spirit. (Yes we do!!) To satisfy this, some people throw parties during the month of July that mimic the holiday of Christmas. The features of Christmas in July include Santa, ice cream and other cold foods and gifts."

In the Spirit of Christmas in July, we would like to offer gifts! Bride Associates would like to give $100 off any package including our Faith, Hope and Love planning packages, delicious candy buffets, popcorn buffet display, bachelorette party planning, and our concierge services!

The Bride Associates Mock Wedding at the Piazza in the Village was SO much fun and a huge sucess! Brides loved the real wedding atmosphere and the education presented throughout the event, learning how to make their day flawless! Here are a few more photos from Premiere Photography.

This gorgeous PINK table was designed by Dara, Bride Associates new Event Designer! Each place setting had a custom menu with swarvorski crystals that complented the hanging crystals throughout the centerpieces. The charger plates, linens and our favorite - the ruffle chair covers were provided by Jay at Ducky Bobs - He is the greatest!

The Bride's Cake was provided by Delicous Cakes! This was actually a fake cake & Delicious Cakes provided personalized cupcakes at each place setting for the guests to enjoy!

The garter toss! All Star Productions showed us a few great ways to incorporate the groom's personality in to this traditional event!

Josh and Angela Rollins were married on January 11th 2009 at the The Old Red Courthouse, one of our favorite venues in Dallas, Texas! Linda and Brittany with the Old Red are always fantastic & easy to work with! Angie, Josh and their family were all such a pleasure to work with and Meagan Gattis with Forever in Focus did an amazing job capturing the unforgettable moments throughout the night.We met this wonderful couple through one of our former team members Jami. Jami and Angela have been friends for many years and it was great to be able to work with them! Jessica, their Bride Associates coordinator made sure the day was flawless. The new Bride Associates Design Team set up a fun and flirty display of black, white and pink candy, as always all the candy was gone by the end of the night!

Our booth was beautiful this year! We had the privelage of teaming up with Pamm Meyers, owner of Bridal Blooms, Food Beyond the Box, and The Orion Ballroom. Food Beyond the Box treated guests (and our staff!) with delicous peanut butter and jelly lolipops - they sounded interesting but were wonderful! As always, the flowers from Bridal Blooms were incredible! We had a smaller candy buffet setup this year but it was still a main attraction along with our beautiful tablescape set up and designed by our new Bride Associates Design team!

Angela and Tim's wedding was featured as a 'Real Wedding' on Dallas Wedding Planner. Sarabeth Quattlebaum, Vice President of Bride Associates, worked with Angela and Tim to create their picture perfect day.

"Family Heritage" Memories & Heirlooms in Dallas, TexasThe spring wedding of Angelina Ramirez and Tim Kilcullen was held at the beautiful St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on March 29, 2008. The bride was gorgeous in her Mon Cheri couture wedding gown. To compliment her gown, Angelina wore a surprise wedding gift, a strand of 8mm Japanese Akoya pearls from her fiance that she received the evening before the wedding. The bride had white handkerchiefs made for each of their parents as well as themselves with individual monograms and the wedding date, in light blue, as a keepsake, and in case anyone ever needed something borrowed, blue, and old to use in future generations. Her bouquet, designed by Your Perfect Wedding by Di Fiori, was all white cymbidium orchid blossoms with a pink throat.Her bridesmaid's Watters and Watters dresses were Tiffany blue and they carried a bouquet of deep red Charlotte roses and hot pink Super Nova spray roses. The reception followed at the Lakewood Country Club in Dallas with beautiful centerpieces in tall dramatic clear glass vases filled with Dogwood branches. Angelina chose different countries as the table names. She made the name cards onto tiffany blue card stock with white paper over that, then the names of the guests. On each of the same cards, she placed a beautiful teardrop crystal as a keepsake for their guests.During the evening, the bride's father surprised her with a mariachi band, Los Reyes de Dallas. They entered the room just as the Angelina and Tim were about to cut the cake and continued to play for a while afterwards for everyone's enjoyment. It was a great touch to add a part of their Hispanic culture into the reception. After a fun evening of dancing, the evening concluded when the wedding consultants of Bride Associates got the guests lined up for Angelina and Tim's grand exit. All of the guests were handed Flutter Fetti as their tossing items and then a burst of wonderful playful music filled the air as Emerald City lead Angelina and Tim out the front doors of Lakewood Country Club with a wedding march. A wonderful ending to a great day and the beginning of Angelina and Tim's lives together all captured by their wedding photographer, Joseph Mark Photography.

Hiring a wedding consultant - April 10, 2008

"After letting the stress build, I took the plunge and started looking for a wedding consultant/coordinator. I've been worrying so much about the night of the reception and all the little things entangled with it, that I couldn't foresee myself enjoying the evening without getting super stressed out.

Christina recommended that I reach out to Chelsey Dane with Bride Associates even if it were to have a helping hand on the day-of the wedding. Luckily with a few email exchanges, I was able to set up a time to meet with Chelsey the same week I had contacted her.

Our initial meeting went smoothly, and I was impressed. Both Chelsey and Jessica had great personalities that meshed well with mine, and boy were they sharp! They asked me all the right questions about our reception, which of course, I didn't have any answers to. By the time the meeting ended, I felt like a big boulder had been lifted off my shoulders.

So, I hired Bride Associates and they'll be overseeing the night of our reception to ensure that things run smoothly -- allowing me, Binh and our families to enjoy our wedding day."
